Abu Baraa

Mizanur Rahman (Abu Baraa’) was born in the UK into a Muslim family and started to study Islam while at college. He subsequently spent a number of years accompanying Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad, attending his lectures, travelling with him, translating articles and messages and taking notes during his lectures on Paltalk and around the UK until Sheikh Omar Bakri left the UK in 2005.

In 2006, Mizanur Rahman attended a demonstration against the Danish cartoons that insulted the Messenger Muhammad (saw) causing outrage across the world. During this protest he made a short du’aa (supplication) to Allah calling for His (swt) support against the aggressive western war against Islam and asking for the defeat of occupying forces in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine and elsewhere in the Muslim world lasting 3 or 4 minutes.

Subsequently, Mizanur Rahman was arrested, convicted of ‘Soliciting person or persons unknown to murder person or persons unknown from the serving British and American armed forces in Iraq and Afghanistan’ and similar things and was imprisoned with a 6 year prison sentence (later reduced to 4).

Mizanur Rahman was released, completed his sentence and is now actively engaged in the Da’wah, lecturing, writing, teaching and continuing his studies about Islam.
